Comfort-Focused Touch / Micro-Holding / Therapeutic Medical Massage / Reiki

Sessions encompass a diverse range of massage therapy techniques, including the Micro-Holding Technique (MHT), which was developed by Mr. Elder in 1997 within an acute care hospital setting. This technique enables the safe provision of therapeutic massage to chronically and seriously ill patients.

Sessions entail slow, gentle, and comfort-oriented massage therapy, accompanied by therapeutic positioning considerations. This approach is characterized by its gradual pace, gentle touch, and subtle movements and joint mobilization. The primary objectives of each session are to alleviate symptoms and enhance relaxation and comfort.

This therapeutic approach facilitates the natural relaxation and release of muscle tension in patients. Sessions may incorporate Reiki and Therapeutic Touch modalities, if desired.

Environmental recommendations can be provided to support the creation of an environment that enhances sensory, experiential comfort, well-being, and quality of life.

Please be advised that this massage therapy technique is not a comprehensive full-body massage. The treatment is tailored to the specific areas of the body that require attention, considering the patient’s needs, comfort, and medical conditions.

By engaging in therapeutic mindfulness practices, individuals learn to respond to life stressors in ways that promote relaxation, well-being, and overall quality of life.

Individual or group therapeutic mindfulness sessions are available.

Mindful Movement

 "Nothing happens until something moves."

---Albert Einstein

Mr. Elder’s Mindful Movement Coaching seeks to enhance awareness of the body and movement, emphasizing relaxation, balance, and the mechanics of movement.

The primary objective of each session is to gently strengthen weak muscles, relax tight muscles, and increase awareness of the mind-body connection in a respectful manner. These sessions promote health and well-being while minimizing the risk of injury.

Mindful Movement seamlessly incorporates various Western and Eastern fitness methods, including aspects of Therapeutic Yoga, Qigong, strength training, and gentle stretching. These methods enhance physical awareness, fitness, balance, flexibility, and heart health in a safe, gentle, and enjoyable manner.

Mindful Movement (1990) is a slow, gentle, and effective approach to improving health and fitness levels. These enjoyable and therapeutic mindful movement practices can be beneficial for:

* Increasing awareness of the body and mind

  • * Enhancing the experience of embodiment
  • * Reducing stress
  • * Minimizing the risk of injury
  • * Recovering from injury or illness
  • * Improving posture
